“Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow”
~Melody Beatty
Now more than ever, the possibilities of volunteers are getting major media attention. Think about your individual local volunteers. Is there someone you can think of for whom continual “Thank You”s just don’t seem enough? Good news! Serve Illinois has the perfect award for your exceptional helpers. Visit Serve Illinois for info on the Governor’s Volunteer Service Awards.
Overview: Awards will be granted to a youth (18 and under), adult (19-54 years), and one Senior (55+) who excel through community service and volunteerism in one of the following areas: Economic Opportunity, Education, Environmental Conservation, Disaster Preparedness/Response, Health, and Veterans Affairs. Nominations are due February 29th.
Are you looking for volunteers or an opportunity to serve?
The Serve Illinois page can help with that too. Go to the Serve Illinois page and click the volunteerism heading in the left column. VOILA! You can post volunteerism opportunities and take advantage of a few yourself. Pass it on.
