Balloon Launch Question: What kind of activities can college students volunteer for at your organization?

We have many college volunteers who are:

*community based mentors to kids 2-3 hours per week

*school based mentors to kids 1 hour per week

*interns in the office

*hosting group recreational and educational activities

*collecting supplies for our office and Christmas gifts for our kids and their families.

Okay, Okay, Sorry it took so long to attach the Internship Directory Brochure. I had to find where my assistant filed it on our shared files. This attachment brought to you by the Business Solutions Center, lists every EIU department intern coordinator. Please feel free to contact these people directly.

Every college is different in terms of how they handle interns. If you need a brochure or website done, I might suggest the Communications department or Technology. A good department to start with for a marketing project is Business. You need press releases, public relations materials you could go to Public Relations, Businessand Journalism.

Some departments receive grants and will match your compensation. For example if you pay $8 per hour, they can pay $8 per hour, so the student gets $16. Some students are willing to accept unpaid internships. I would recommend speaking with the Intern coordinator to explore the options.
