The Good Samaritan Inn is a soup kitchen located in downtown Decatur, Illinois. We serve a free hot midday meal to an average of three hundred adults and children each day. We are open seven days a week. 2012 marks our thirtieth year of operation. We have nine full and part time staff. We are entirely funded by private donations, and rely greatly on volunteers, who come daily to help prepare and serve the meal. Currently volunteers come from forty-five different churches and eighteen community groups, businesses, and schools.
